Mailtab pro for Gmail

Easy to use, good design. Excellent application Thanks to the team.

Works like expected

My solution for now as Sparrow Ersatz, the app has overlived the first week and I still use it. The Compose modal cannot open a standalone window (unlike the Gmail web page), this is explained when trying to use that the first time. Good blend into the Mac OS, no other issues yet.

fast and usefull

does its job, no problem

Great, does the job!

Very nice. An update would be appreciated as it’s overdue (they mention regular updates in the description). I for example asked them directly to add a hot key to switch account.

Very helpful

This version is very fast very helpful!

Doesn

Nice app, great layout, but it only logs in to Gmail accounts, no Google Apps Domains. I hope they make some update on this.

Wheres the point about Google Talk?

When someone calls me through Google Talk, the application does not display any warning and no sound. I just do not know when someone is calling me. I should have stayed with the free version, just bought it because of Google Talk, which is poorly implemented.

Not so good

There is an incovenient bug when the app launches at every startup. It doesnt open Gmail until you end the process and restart it again, then you could see the email. This doesnt make the task easier than click a bookmark button which loads Gmail automatically, as my login/password were already saved. Well, I paid 1,99 for a beep when a new email is received… I just dont recommend it because it doesnt make things easier,

Good App

Good App for a quick look whats up in my GMail inbox!

Goodby Mail Clients!

This is a must have if you use gmail or run your business on google apps.

Nice but could be better

It’s a nice and simple program. There are a few things that it could do better though. Improvement suggestions: 1. I’d make the mobile view the default for what comes up when clicking the program in the menu bar. 2. Add an option (if you do #1) in the preferences to have the desktop version as the default instead. 3. Put the fullscreen button into both variants, and have the mobile version automatically switch to desktop view if it’s used. 4. Remove the window frame in fullscreen view. Optimally I’d want to only see the webpage, no borders, no frames. 5. Remember the fullscreen setting and reapply it on the next startup. 6. When the menubar icon shows new mail the webpage should already be refreshed so that the mail is right there when I wanna check it. 7. When I read my mail on the webpage the menu bar icon currently takes up to around 20 seconds before it notices there is nothing left unread. Thanks!

80 Prozent CPU

Brauch ständig 80% CPU, unbrauchbar!!

why buy this version?

i downloaded the free version and found that it had ads at the bottom... fair enough. i like the app so i thought that if i bought the pro version the ads would dissapear. nope, the ADS ARE STILL THERE........ WHY DID I BUY THIS IF THE FEATURES ARE THE EXACT SAME!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Does not work

Network error telling me to connect to internet when im obviously connected (Hey, I can write this cant I). Tried to get support. No response. Dont bother spending money on this one. Kinda sad because other apps form same développer are good.

Love that its a tab

The tab at the top is great, it changes colour when ever you get a new email, when you open it its is the same as a webpage but is in its own application, There is the option for the app to start when the computer starts and also it doesnt have to show it up on the doc

Good App, one feature missing.

For years Ive been using mail through the browser. Then I switched to Mac and figured Apple would have a killer mail app, sadly Apple Mail doesnt meet my expectations, so I checked the app store and found MailTab, 5 minutes later I bought the full version, After a few days using it Ive only found one issue that needs to be addressed. Multiple accounts. I am aware that I can sign into multiple gmail accounts, but the interface lacks polish, as the owner of several businesses which use Google Apps for mail I need to be up to date on all of the mail I receive to several accounts at once, I find that Im often signed out of one or another and that there is no really fast way to switch between accounts seamlessly. Overall a good app. Add more support for multi-accounts and Itll be great!

Good Idea but not throughly tested. app stops working

There is a bug in this program. After the app is left open for a some time then the window screen goes blank light blue and doesnt show anything except scrollbar and frames. Refreshing doesnt fix it. Only possible fix when that happens is to quit and restart mailtab pro again which is quite annoying. Please fix this.

Im not getting chat message notifications

I like the idea of this little app very much, and I like how it handles Gmail. I wish I could eliminate the need for iChat by also using it for GoogleTalk, but although I have "New Chat Message" notifications enabled in Growl, no chat notifications are appearing. The advertised GoogleTalk support (the reason for paying $1.99) is obviously quite restricted if you never know when you have incoming chat messages. Hopefully this can be fixed easily.

Menu app that beats them all.

Great value for the money. Tried sparrow purchased sparow hated sparow. Tried MailPlane purchased MailPlane Hate MailPlane. Deleted them all for this nice little applet that dose my needs perfectly. Also check out there menu app for quick notes!! Another great tools for quick notes. Looking forward to more options added to this app.

Great App

I abandoned the default mail app when-try as I might-it failed to set up my pop3 mail account properly. I like the fact that MailTab just sits in my menu bar and doesnt take up space and the fact that it turns red to notify me of new e-mails. In addition to support for multiple accounts, I would really like to see the color of the outside border be customizable, and I would love to see the anchor function you have in notestab added to mailtab. Overall I do thnk this app is wonderful and well worth the price. If youre looking for an alternative to mail app and you use gMail, and you want something unobtrusive, this is the app for you.
