MailTab Pro for Gmail - Email Client App Reviews

Easy to use application and very reliable. It indicates the number of unread messages correctly. When I switch to the desktop mode, it has the complete function of gmail. Only problem is that it causes some conflict with Avast anti-virus (it gives alert of internal system error).

A HOG, a PIG, a Wild Animal this is but better than all the other MalTabs out there which use up to 50% of my system according to Memory Scope, a third party utility. I use this soft for now but looking for something less demanding on my RAM.

It does what it says. But it has a really high RAM usage. 162mb even when the tab is closed. Not a problem on big Macs, but on a Macbook Air with 2mbs of RAM, its a problem.

Fast and easy to use tool. I like it.

Very good app, but I found one bugg. When I write answer to letter I was pressed "alt" and got alert "JavaScript : Letter not sent, Cancel letter ?" Using alt button to swich between RU and EN keybord via punto switcher. Please fix it

App is ok. Since it is simple webview for gmail, what can be wrong with it, right? But when you launch it from second display - boom! App displayed in random location. You can not use it from second display.

The app constantly kicks me off when I’m trying to respond to an email. After typing several words in mobile mode I notice I’m no longer typing in the app. A friend of mine has the same trouble...

very smaprt application, since I installed I never stopped using that, however there are some imporvement and bug to be fixed major wish list 1) it would be very nice to run multple instance of the software for different e mail account. minor bug 1) sometimes in lion I am not able to click on it, after a while this works back properly.

The chat stopped working again in mobile mode like in 4.0 … what happened??

Its a perfect and small app, but it would be better if notification and unread mail badge were shown when mails arrive on sub-folder (labels) as well.

This app is Web wrapper for the Gmail website and it works fine if youve only one Gmail account to read. It would be a great improvement in a future release to have the possibility to manage more account in the meanwhile.

Best thing I evr did for mail was to instal this app. No need to sift through mail,just click on the icon top of screen and read. Excellent app. and so easy to use and personalise.Eric Davies

After the latest update the application is not opening anymore! FIX IT PLEASE! I tried to restart my macbook and remove the application cache files. Still not working. Following my old comment (when the application was working) I’ve got some problems with this app: - the gmail (desktop) page keeps reloading every time that I open it (!! very annoying) - the position of the gmail window - on my big screen - keeps changing every time - even if Ive set it near the top panel it opens near the bottom

Love this app. It works so well that I forget it’s not part of the operating system. Non-intrusive notifications. Easy to respond or compile a message. Automatically hides when I’m done with it.

I like the features in the Pro version vs the free version. Being able to move the window and resize is nice. I like having the choice of mobile view or desktop view. Everything works wonderful and it is nice having icon sit in top bar for easy and quick access and not having to go through a web browser.

I have used MailTab Pro on my desktop and macbook for a while now and I’m very satisfied. Highly recommended!!

It’s becomes worse than useless when it polls email so often that Google locks your account for one to 24 hours. When I think about, it’s not a lot diferent than another tab in my browser and that doesn’t get my email account locked. Here’s what Google says (without warning) Sorry. "To keep our systems healthy, Google has temporarily disabled your account. This primarily occurs when we detect unusually high levels of activity on your account. In most cases, it should take one hour to regain access. In rare cases, it can take up to 24 hours for access to be reinstated. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Here are some reasons why this could have happened: Receiving, deleting, or downloading large amounts of mail via POP or IMAP in a short period of time. Sending a large number of messages to many people. Being logged into or synchronizing Gmail on many computers, clients, or mobile devices.” (a laptop, a desktop and a phone are too many devices apparently)
