Mailtb Pro for Gmail

This wil be short and to the point. if you wnt something you click on and will be intuitive and useful NOT HERE. USELESS to the point of being HARMFUL.

MailTab Pro

Other than small operating issues this is a pretty good program. Has problem printing attachments. Wish it wouldn;t stop disappearing when you want to use another program. Otherwise, good.

All Mailtab apps are not equal

Ive used a few and this one is the best by far. Nothing to compalin about actually, it just works.

I love this app!

This app has every option that the web browser offers and more. I love how easy it is to use, the customization options and how reliable it is. Great job and keep up the good work!

MailTab

Simple app that performs as advertised, as all good apps are and do.

The best Gmail Notifier plus a huge bonus

Enough people here have talked about how great MailTab Pro is and I couldn’t agree more…it’s a wonderful replacement for Gmail, especially if you use Safari. However…the BIG bonus that may go unnoticed is a little gem in the MailTab Pro preferences that lets you change the desktop fonts in it’s presentation of Gmail. Small, medium, and large, with medium looking exactly like the Gmail web app. For those of us with a 27-in iMac or monitor, the resolution is greater, hence the font size “appears” smaller. Moving this preference setting to “Large” just bumps it up a little bit, making it look absolutely perfect on m 27-inch iMac. The paid version of this app has fewer 5-star reviews but it’s the very same app, just without the ads. It’s not fair to rate an app lower just on this fact alone. Lower ratings should be because of inferior functionality, etc.

Normally 5 stars but horribly broken since last update

I use this all of the time and love it. It’s simply one of the best apps in the app store. The last update broke this. Backspacing results in error messages. Focus leaves window randomly. It’s just broken right now. Will update to 5 stars if problem gets resolved.

Needs to be updated - error message and google voice calls

Overall the app is great. Allows me to keep the browser closed, which saves a lot on resources and often, battery. However, two issues need to be resolved: 1) Recently, an error message started showing up: “This version of Chrome is no longer supported.” This is obviously from Gmail’s end, but the app should be updated with the newest version of Chrome’s underpinnings so that it doesn’t give that error anymore. 2) It would be PERFECT if you could get Google Voice via Gmail working within the app. I have to open Firefox or Chrome to make phone calls and that’s kind of annoying.

Outdated browser warning

I love the app and would recommend it to anyone; however, over the last 72 hours I keep getting a warning bar across the top regarding the browser being outdated (Chrome specifically). I checked Chrome and it is definitely up to date so it must be the code in the app. I click dismiss but it still pops up randomly throughout the day. Very annoying which is why it gets only 4 stars. Will revise once this issue is resolved.

Great Program but now Chrome Error Message

I paid for this program and have been using it for a year and it has worked great. BUT recently there is an error message that says “This version of Chrome is not supported” across the top of the MailTab window. I tried to email support but cannot get a reply. I expect better support from a paid app. I am dissappointed.

Is Google Trying to Trick Us Into Updating to Chrome Browser?

This past week I am getting constant notices to update my chrome browser, which I don’t use. I also got a pop-up to update the app when none appeared in the App Store. This is CLASSIC malware behavior and if it doesn’t stop within 48 hours I will report it to Apple.

Horrible for Spam and Phishing Protection

There are two major things that I dislike about this app. 1. It uses way too much memory! I have this little notification icon with a single status number on it, yet it needs 345MB+ to do this? 2. MailTab completely hides and prevents you from seeing what hyperlinks in emails are really pointing to. This is very dangerous for phishing and spam prevention. Yes...go ahead and click that link without examining where it may be going... UPDATE: This latest version now causes Google to lockout my Gmail account due to excessive access. It has happened several times, and Ive narrowed it down to this app. I have uninstalled it from all of my Macs.

Can’t deselect the “inbox” lable Anymore

The good: the “Browser out of date message is gone” The bad: The lable list used to include the inbox. Now it doesn’t so there is no way stop (remove item) displaying email in the inbox.

mail tab for gmail

it is a no-brainer…why WOULDN’T you get it? it improves and requires less time to get mal

CPU & Memory hog

For an app that just needs to check gmail periodically, it sure uses a lot of CPU to do it. It was slowing down the rest of the system. Quit -> Move to Trash -> Back to the drawing board.

Nothing special from the basic version

I bought this because it is supposed to be able to customize notification since I’m tired of the promotion pop-out. But I cannot find the way to customize either online or the support forum. Don’t waste your money. It’s nothing special from the basic version.

Uses 500mb of memory

What is this app doing that requires a half gig of memory? That’s almost as much as my firefox, chrome and safari are using COMBINED! For such a simple app, they really need to take a look at memory management.

Good utility

Love the functionality this provides. Work blocks gmail ports for mail clients but allows Browser access, so I’m able to use this and check GMail while at work. Just click on the icon anytime you want to see mail. It has some quirks at times, I find I lose focus on the app a lot and the curor will just disappear while I am typing. Other than that seems to work pretty well.

Very handy; quick review of my Gmail inbox

Quick handy access to an email account that I mainly check often, read a bit, and reply little. Quite handy. Using the Gmail keyboard shortcuts makes things quick to move through.

Small menubar app that’s full powered

After accidentally sending work email from my gmail account one too many times, I decided to find a separate mail program. It works well, is unobtrusive, and allows for quick replies.
